NESCSO Staff...

Gerald Clay, Executive Director

Mr. Clay is the current Executive Director of the New England States Consortium Systems Organization (NESCSO). In this capacity he works with the state Human Service Commissioners and their administrative staff, the regional and central office administrators of CMS and the Chancellors office of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. His primary mission is to enhance the collaborative efforts of these organizations. He was formerly the President of a Maryland based managed care firm and the Executive Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Office of Mental Health, an organization with over four billion in total yearly expenditures and 20,000 plus employees. He has extensive experience in developing software applications, writing RFP's, evaluation instruments, completion of statistical and narrative reports, and project management.

Nancy Peterson, Deputy Director

Nancy's background as a healthcare and health policy information professional provides our members with direct access to a comprehensive health and human services knowledgebase. Members may call or email information requests for specific documents as well as request primary research to be conducted by formal or informal surveys. Nancy develops content for www.nescso.org and provides user training for the ONTRAK project tracking tool. Nancy also serves as the project lead for the New England Partnership for Improved Behavioral Health Services and Outcomes for Children and Families and has assisted States in project coordination and Request for Proposal (RFP) development. She represents NESCSO at various national and regional meetings on health care policy and Medicaid topics.

Karen Alger, Administrative Assistant

Karen is the Administrative Assistant for NESCSO. She is responsible for providing administrative support to NESCSO staff and Member State Board personnel. She assists in coordinating various meetings between the six New England States Medical & Healthcare agencies. She is responsible for the set up and maintenance of contracts, files, and projects. She was previously employed for over 20 years in the private sector as a Documentation Control Specialist and an Accounts Receivable Supervisor, where she oversaw the receivables processes for a Fortune 500 company.

Anita manages the organization's websites. She is responsible for site maintenance, revisions, updates as well as analysis and improvements. She has demonstrated progressive experience in business systems development, computers and operating systems, networks and telecommunications and web programming. Anita graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.
